The Channel Islands are British crown dependencies located off the French coast of Normandy and in the English Channel. They contain major offshore financial centres in the Bailiwicks of Guernsey and Jersey. With lower tax rates than some European Union countries within its vicinity it is popular with private equity funds and banks.
